How to Update a BrightSign Player App or Firmware Version

Updating the app version and firmware version for BrightSign players is easy.

Login to the CMS and visit the Devices page where you'll have many device control options, including the ability to update the embed app version and BrightSign player firmware.

Either, select the checkbox for the Device(s) you wish to update, then select 'Actions' > 'Update Software'

Or, click the three dots on the right hand side of the Device row to select 'Update Software'

Both options will launch the 'Update Software' action panel where you can see the details of the update. To activate, click the 'Queue Update' button:

To update the firmware version on a BrightSign player, click into the device edit page for the BrigthSign player.

Then under 'Firmware Version' select from the available versions in the dropdown menu. Then click 'Save Device'

Updating can take several minutes and the player will reboot during this process.

We recommend you update the app version to the latest version first and then the firmware.
