If you want to use 4K portrait video content on BrightSign players you will need to enable the Native Video Playback - here's how.

How to enable Native Playback on a device

If you have an BrightSign device running v1.1.2+ embed app already registered to your account, simply click into the device edit page for that device then change the Video Player to 'Native'.

Once changed, please save the device and then republish the channel to that device.

How to enable Native Playback on all new devices registered

If you know that the BrightSign devices you're going to register need native playback enabled you can change the account settings to ensure all new devices use the Native player.

Once here scroll down to the device defaults and then change the BrightSign video player option to Native > Save settings

Placement of Video content when using Native - Above or Behind

When using the Native Video Player with BrightSign, you have the option to place content either Above all other layout content or Behind all other layout content.

You can change this per playlist item by clicking to edit the playlist item and changing the Video Placement settings as below:

Or you can set an account default via Accounts Settings > Default Settings for any new items that are added to playlist to follow. This is found under the 'Videos' section:
