Since October, we've had reports of YouTube and Sky News showing Error 153 video configuration errors sporadically.
Our team has been investigating and here is what we know so far:
YouTube embedded videos have sporadically displayed 153 error on some screens, platforms and this has also been observed outside of embed signage in different browsers.
The Error 153 appears to be a wider problem on Google/YouTube’s side.
On 30th October 2025, Google acknowledged the issue and confirmed they are looking into it.
We’ll continue to monitor the situation closely and will share any updates as they become available.
For now, this is out of our control and we await a resolution from Google.
