The Custom Apps feature is only available upon request - if you would like to use this feature for your project, please contact us to discuss.
With the Custom Apps feature, you can create your own unique content applications as HTML packages and upload them to embed to be used as part of layouts or playlists.
This opens up further opportunities for more creative and custom content to be utilised within your embed signage digital signage network.
Follow these steps to use the feature:
Create New:
First, go to the Custom Apps section and click on the 'Add New' button
Give you App a name and optionally add a description.
Then click 'Create App'
The App will be created and you'll see a green banner confirming it's been 'updated'
From here, click on the Import tab > then select the file from your computer and finally 'Sumbit'
Note: Only .zip files are allowed to be uploaded in the Import section
Once the file has been uploaded, you'll see a new status which confirms the file has been uploaded and is processing
You'll also see the 'processing status' on the main Custom Apps area:
Once the app has been processed, you'll receive an email confirming it's ready to use:
And you'll see the status of the App is now 'Ready' in the Custom Apps overview area.
Add your Custom App to a Playlist / Layout:
On the playlist area (zone or global) you'll see an option for Custom Apps. Select this:
Once inserted into the Playlist you'll see a dropdown which will list all of the available Custom App packages on your account. Select the one you wish to use:
Now you can simply save the playlist and publish to your device(s).
Only certain devices can use the Custom Apps feature. Check out this guide for more information on the supported devices and Developing Apps for them.

Overwriting files in an App
It is possible to overwrite files for a Custom App. To do this, click on the App Files tab and then upload. Ensure the file you are uploading is the exact same file name to overwrite it:
You'll receive a prompt to ask if you wish to overwrite the selected file, select Yes, Overwrite.
Once uploaded, you'll see the new file with a timestamp on the App Files list confirming the file has been overwritten.
We hope you enjoy using this feature.
