1. Fields

You have a list of fields which you can show or hide; these are:

  • Title - the MRSS item title

  • Body - the text content from the MRSS item

  • QR Code - automatically generated QR code to the MRSS item

  • Date - the date of the MRSS item

2. Design

There are a range of design options to choose from

  • Templates - pre-defined designs to display your Teams Channel content

    • Block (default)

    • Half

    • Full

  • Flip - swaps the media and text elements of the template around

    =

  • Themes - for each Template you can choose a theme

    • Light (default)

    • Dark

    • Custom (change the Template colours / gradients used)

      • Custom Theme options include:

        • Media Background (when no media available, this will show)

          • Solid colour

          • Gradient

        • Text Background (remaining area of template where text is used)

          • Solid colour

          • Gradient

        • Progress Bar

          • Solid colour

          • Gradient

        • Font

          • Solid colour only

Note: The gradient picker allows for Linear and Radial gradients to be added with the ability to save to your presets.

  • Heading font - applied to the Title field. Choose from the font library (including any custom brand fonts you've uploaded)

  • Body font - applied to the Body filed. Choose from the font library (including any custom brand fonts you've uploaded)

3. Data

Control how the data from Teams Channel posts are handled in the Design:

  • Heading limit - set a character limit for the Title field

  • Body limit - set a character limit for the Body field

  • Number of items - how many MRSS items will be pulled into the feed (chronological order)

  • Interval (s) - how long each MRSS item will display on screen for (in seconds)

  • Show videos? - if video content is available, choose to display or not. If not, video thumbnail will be shown in Media field instead

  • Use video duration? - if selected, entire video will show before moving to next MRSS item. This will override the 'Interval' setting for that specific post.

4. Animations

Control how the Template transitions from one post to another:

  • Fade - all items fade in and out

  • Slide - media and text fields slide in / out from opposite directions

  • Bounce - all items bounce in and out

Key information about the MRSS Feed Content App

Responsive design:

Content Apps (such as the MRSS Feed app) are responsive and designed to automatically resize to the zone they are in.

If you were to set a zone to 'Full Screen' and publish this to devices with different resolutions and orientations, the Content App would automatically adjust - for example in portrait:

For video to show from an MRSS Feed:

  • the video must be included in the media tag as a mp4

Video volume control (if included as mp4):

Volume control is available for video and is handled via the playlist item volume settings.

Further function and limitation notes:

For a detailed breakdown of Content App functions and limitations, please refer to the matrix.
