Key information about the SharePoint News Content App

Responsive design:

Content Apps (such as the SharePoint News app) are responsive and designed to automatically resize to the zone they are in.

If you were to set a zone to 'Full Screen' and publish this to devices with different resolutions and orientations, the Content App would automatically adjust - for example in portrait:

Content types that will be pulled in to your digital signage:

  • SharePoint News Posts and site Pages only

For video to show from a News Post / Page:

  • the video must be the first 'media' item in the SharePoint News Post / Page.

  • it must be uploaded to the site and inserted into the News Post / Page from SharePoint Stream

  • YouTube videos and videos from a link will not show

Video volume control:

Volume control is available for video and is handled via the playlist item volume settings.
